Maybe you can try to get used to it and compensate on your own when you use it. Best thing about digital is that you can view your first shot and adjust your second. Think that is the best solution till you bring it for servicing. All the Best!
Are you using the DX lens with your D70? If not, and you are using the non-DX lenses then I'm wondering if it could be the 1.5 times magnification factor - your actual picture is actually 1.5 times 'closer' than what you see.
