Wedding photographer assistant

i've read about what it takes to be a Studio apprentice. but what abt an assistant for the wedding photographer?

apart from shooting weddings for free, its also one of the ways to gain experience right? i'm not ready to shoot yet. dun even own a DSLR. ;p just hopping to be able to learn the ropes from anyone who's willing to teach.

been to 2 weddings as a videographer (both are my teachers). so i have some experience from the video side. but not from the photo side.:sweat:

everything! how to compose the shots, how to decide on what lens to use, how to deal with emergencies/ "****-ups", how to deal with people/customers..
