Watching cautiously at A200.

I have an A200 and would like to sell it for a reasonable price (used only once - max 120 shots). I also bought the 3600 flash and an extra battery .

I am thinking of upgrading to KM 5D or the Nikon D50. Will also get the Sigma 18-200mm lense. The guy at Alan Photo says with the D50, the zoom will effectively be 28-300mm. Is it correct? For the 5D, I can still use my flash but friends told me the D50 is a better choice since it is much faster on Auto mode and more choice of lenses.

For the A200, put it out in B&S I will bid.

If you are on economy, then if you like the anti-shake feature of KM, then it's obvious.
Now I know IS/AS is so nice to replace a tripod.

Choices of lens, yes. No doubt, Canon & Nikon wins hands down over Minolta BUT...

How much are u willing to spend on lenses? There isn't half a point when u've got an overwhelming availability of accessories & lenses when u ain't even gonna prepared to spend beyond $1.5K per lens and u ain't probably going to go beyond 3 lenses in ur collection?

It all boils down to what u want & how much are u willing to fork out for this hobby.

the a200 is not like an slr, it uses a different kind of AF, so it will be much slower than an slr when in low light. it also needs a high contrast area to focus on.

why don't you try it outdoors in daylight first? use the flex focus point (the cross in the centre), not the wide area focus, make sure you know what you're focussing on, then take some pictures and see if the focus is quick and accurate? if that works fine, then you're probably just experiencing usual low-light focusing problems with a prosumer camera.

if even in bright daylight it doesn't focus, then maybe got camera or technique issues.

my table. And there is low contrast issue.

For 3600 HS flash hor, I got mine in mint condition at $120. Is it a good price? How come
when I try to focus with 3600 on, there is no red matrix on the subject? I used to see that
with my Canon & 420 Ex.

it's a good price.

the focus assist on the 3600 and the 5600 don't work with the Ax series cameras.
