Hi Guys

Needed some help on Vuescan software. I am having some problem with my vuescan software and has been googling for awhile but i still cant find an answer.

1) How can i allow vuescan to auto detect the no. of frames on the negative and yet allow me to deselect the frame that i do not need? Say there are 12 frames, and maybe i have already scan the first 3 frame. How can i start from frame 4 onwards?

2) How come my vuescan does not auto assign a file name for my pictures? i choose scan on preview and I clicked on auto save file name but it always stop at image one..and there is no way i can set a name for eg. Pic 1 for picture 1 and it auto assign a Pic 2 for the next and subsequent?

Did i missed out on any steps? Or is this the limitation of vuescan?

Im using arcphotostudio from canon now, and i wanted to try vuescan...but then in comparison, it seems much easier and convenient to use the arcphotostudio....
Hopefully someone can guide me along...thanks

Go to the Input tab, and go to the Batch scan option and select list. Then a textbox will appear and then enter say 4-10 to scan from 4 to 10.

Thanks bro, what about the naming? Cant really have an assigned name to all the images right?

I wanna know too..it's irritating that I need to keep on renaming each time I wanna scan the next frame..

Go under the Output tab, go to the "(insert whatever file type) File Name" and say, if you are like me and you want to have your images named "IMG1", "IMG2" etc., then you write "IMG1+" in the textbox and it will start from IMG1.

just another qn about vuescan (sorry to hijack)

when i did the infrared dust reduction on my canoscan lide 700f, the IR scan is upside down and the dust reduction does not work. anyone has any suggestions?

thanks!

Thanks....let me try it tonite...this is going to make scanning alot easier with vuescan...haha

To the second question, I think if you rename your img as 1+, it will automatically scan without needing to rename the frame everytime a new frame has to be scanned. Hope it helps
