Buy Buy Buy ... MO ... anyone

I see a DC In, does this mean i will need external power input? Is there an inbuilt power source (e.g. battery operated)?

Seems like a slick device, but i think a standalone without the need for external power source will be best. :D

ooops, went to the website, it is battery operated. this makes it so attractive..;p

if (i say "if", later ppl blame me again :D )
it is the same with the x-box, it should have an internal battery attached inside the xs-drive II.
Means that the external battery / DC input is used when you run out of the power from the internal battery. It is optional one, not necessary.
In short, the external power source is being used ONLY when you finish the internal battery's power OR the when the internal battery malfunction.

Probably the only major difference between this and the original x-drive is the USB 2.0 interface for faster downloading to the PC.

How much is it then?

that is another discussion oredi.;p

I hope it improves on the horrid compatibility issues of the original X-drive, else I don't think it will be a good buy at all. All those extras ain't going to save the frustration when you realise your media isn't working well with it.

The X-drive 2 cost $210 + $40 freight @ www.powerinnumbers.com.au

The price should be the cheapest. I have order my and will be receiving it soon

Anyone else interested in this ? I am quite keen at that price.... may see how many can be delivered with the S$40 freight.

Hi everyone,

From the looks and specs, this is a welcome and improved version of the earlier X-Drive.There were reports of users of the 1st version, who, unable to view the files, keeps on copying and downloading files, only to find later that, the later downloads had overwritten the earlier files.

With the LCD display, one shld be able to view and create different folders for different photo shoots, thereby avoiding problems of overiding files.

Purchasing the casing only also leaves us with option of getting more expensive but reliable notebook harddisk. X-Drives in Singapore uses mainly IBMs, while some of us mightl prefer Japanese made harddisk.

Worth Taking a Look!

Regards,
Michael

Actually I have order mine, and have it send to Perth.
The price for orders with in Aust is higher compare to export price

Price with in Aust is $230 + $23GST + $17Freight = $270

Export Price is $210 + $40freight = $250

But since I need the X-drive 2 now, so I have to pay $20 extra to have it send to perth

fianlly got USB 2.0....too bad it cannot use as MP3 player as well....

am i too greedy??

yes u r... ;) hehee... luckily i didn't buy the v1 one last time, as i heard of the file overwritting problem.

hope someone who got it post some review~ :rbounce:

Dunno how much it will be when it is in Singapore.

But at that price, it may be more worth it to buy that than a new CF 512 ... especially for travelling.
