Voigtlander lens faceplate lost...

Just an help request, since I'm not able to find a solution for this little problem:

I'm a proud user of CV lenses on my leica M6 and CL. I bought recently a second-hand 15mm f4.5 screw mount. The lens came without the front faceplate, the ring where is printed "VOIGTLANDER SUPER WIDE-HELIAR 15mm F4.5 ASPHERICAL".
I noticed only 4 little signs of glue around the glass... so it was lost...:dunno:

I'm sure this is not a gap for good shots, but I would like to have my lens in perfect conditions...
How can I have it repaired in Europe? Or, (better) is it possible to buy the "ring" anywhere?

regards.

Got your email, but haven't have a chance to reply...

Yes, I can order the part for you. Will give you the quote with shipping in the email.

Wow is it even possible for the front of the lens to pop out like that?

BTW... Welcome to the Singapore Forum! Clubsnap RangeFinder Forum is a great place to hang out... we have pretty nice folks here who are into RF photography, friendly and warm... just like the Singapore weather.

Be sure to visit Chiif's shop too! I think I saw a M9 inside today.. Haha

You kidding... if u are not, then it's probably not mine...

All my stuff in my shop add together can't even buy a M9 body.... :bsmilie:

BTW, the faceplate is glued to the lens and sometimes using fluid to clean the lens might dissolve the glue and cause it to drop out.

Not a common problem, but if it does happen, just drop me a mail. Shouldn't cost an arm or leg, that's the beauty of Japanese lenses... like Toyota, they are cheaper to maintain. :)

Haha I saw it while getting the film clips from you =x

Problem solved !!! :D

Thanks to the courtesy of Chiif, who surprised me for le quality of his service, really "friendly and warm".... I was not able to fix the problem with Italian, German and even English distributor :thumbsd:. So, let me test the shipping service, but I think that my next CV lens will come from Singapore...

Tanks Chiif, thanks you all!

Probably the lens was used on an M8, and the only way to use the IR cut filter on CV 15mm is to fix it with a drop of glue. If the glue is too much, when you remove the filter you remove the all faceplate... So, beware of M8 users when you buy a second-hand CV lens! ;)

Best regards
marcello
