For video, an old but fantastic Panasonic MX350. Great colours, sharp, good low light performance, and low noise. Got it from Alan Photo (shelve unit, in the glass shelve except for the few prosumer customers who plays with the cam) for $2500 when the market price was $3500, full warranty. That was about 4 plus years ago. Standard Def, of course, and earned me quite some bucks doing videos for weddings and events. I prefer the warmer tones from Panny over the blues of Canon or Sony.
I was looking at the DVX100 or DVC30 and so on for years, but no reason to get such a high-end and large cam for mostly home use.
Between video and photos, I still believe that videos are better at capturing events, photos has no motion and no sound.
