In the first picture from left, he is showing a Video DSLR with audio attachment via 3.5mm mic jack. The reasoning is that if using larger lenses, may block the onboard camera audio mic and that the onboard mic is not as sensitive as a dedicated microphone.
In the second picture from left, he is showing how to work a Gorillapod as an adhoc stabilizer for video taking.
In the third picture from left, he is showing how to do dolly with a video dslr.
In the above picture, he is showing how to do parallel audio recording as well as tip on how to merge/sync the video and audio together in post.
