Hi guys,

Got a wedding to cover soon. Was thinking of getting a video light incase of dark weather, plus need to cover the dinner reception in the evening.

So was looking to rent a video light, from Camera rental Centre.

Was considering the Rotolight or the litepanel.

Was wondering do you guys have any experience with this lights or if you have any recommendations.

Thanks

oh man...i was looking thru the video demo. Where you can switch gels to match different color temps. Looks pretty cool.

Is it because the light is just weak?

yes you have to get up pretty close. I have used them once, not to my liking. Maybe you can try first. u might like it.

Be more specific.

You want your lights to be on camera or acting as a floodlight on a lightstand?

If you want an on-camera solution, I have a light I can rent to you. It's the 312AS, temperature adjustable.

jemjemjem>>> get the light with adjustable temperature. Easy to work with. Take note what hamanoshun brought up.

Yea read up about those, but was those with adjustable temp, u kinda only get half the power for each color temp.

Was thinking of getting those where can swap the gels

Well, it's basically 312 leds split into 2 colours so 156 each. But in terms of lumens, it's a pretty powerful piece of light. I'm actually upgrading to the bigger 508 so I wouldn't have to bring my arris to shoots.

Litepanels like the 1x1 are good but expensive (that's life, I guess :p).
Rotolights, I looked at them and thought they are only good for headshots. Only 40+ leds. Unless u go for the bigger version, costs an arm n leg.
