Think its from HDD hard disk drive erh you can ust click select all and transfer into your story board, edit and burn into dvd just like normal mpeg file. Done this on power director once and a few time using other software like pinacles etc quite easy actually

So it's an MPEG2 file then? Why does it have a .mod extension?

Some models of the JVC Digital Camcorder record videos to .MOD video format. These files a simply MPEG-2 formatted video, saved with the .MOD file extension. It's reported that simply renaming the extension from .MOD to .AVI or .MPG. :)

OK, thanks for the info. I just found this:

"JVC stores the video in files with a .MOD extension which are standard MPEG-2 VOB files with Dolby Digital sound. Third-party editing applications should be able to edit them."

Ya, i tried the PowerDirector, but it only burn the combined mpg movies into the DVD. I want the DVD to be played by DVD player (PAL format).. That's a headache.. That's why i used DVD Flick and convertXtoDVD. DVD flivk is good but it has limitation on numbers of clips allowed (less than 20 clips)

disappointed with the Adobe element 4.. met many problem, but ain't sure isn't my computer not good enough (P4 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM)? I brought Adobe element 4 because it accepts .MOD format..

problem
1. application always hang
2. take up a lot ot memory (occupied almost 700MB to 800MB RAM when running)
3. if it can't encode the movies, the application never tell you..
4. don't burn to DVD RW

So anybody got application to recommend?

Corel

Why don't you download the trial versions and see for yourself? All these apps are different in certain ways, and what I like might not be what you like. :)

have you tried Ulead? any comments?

on the encoding time, user-friendiness, GUI, ever hang when you tried to join 100 hundred video clips (4GB data),

normally, what computer specification is required for video editing? I might be getting a new Intel window PC.. Dual core /4GB RAM 800MHz, 500GB HDD, Nvidia graphics card/ firewire/dual-layer DVD writer/

How about video editing software with Apple as i have a iBook G4..??

is it cheaper to get professional to do the job for us??

Thanks

software rendering it will take time to encode and it depend how big/long your media to join...using video editing card are real time to render, but anyway now the pc are more powerful and faster encode...you can try the ulead dvd moviefactory is simple and user friendly...
