Hi,

how are you guys dealing with insurance for camera rental.

I ask because in many cases when I rent or others rent from me, we didn't really look at the insurance coverage aspect.

What if the camera came back broke. How do you guys account for it?

What are the policy of major local rental house regarding lost and damages to rental equipment.

Would love to hear some advise from those of you who are in this rental business or those who rent camera gear regularly.

cheers

I have been looking for camera insurance even when I dun rent my cam. Hard to find. So far they only do it for those with studios.

Insurance only covers company equipment and there is a minimum inventory needed. They do not cover personal owned equipment. Usually access payable is high like S$3000 per claim so if your equipment is close to that amount no point.

Sometimes you can extend your household contents insurance to cover "all risks" on items like cameras that you need to take out of the house. It's worth checking the coverage limits for that, but the problem is you have to take out the insurance when the item is new.
