Hi, I hope this is not going to be a stupid question. Anyway here goes.

I just bought the AF 50 mm f/1.8 D lens and it has an aperture ring.

However it is locked at f22. So when i unlock it and try to start using it on my D80, the LCD screen shows fEE and I am unable to take the picture.

I have flipped the switch from AF to M at the bottom left side of the cam and also to manual mode on the dial switch.

Can someone point out to me what i am doing wrong? Or is it just that my D80 does not allow me to use the aperture ring of the lens?

Thanks in advance.
