Yes, the catch is that it needs to use an IDE channel, which I'm all out of...

discovered that video pro lists a "PCI PCMCIA / PC Card Drive (Back Panel)" for $68. If this is a PCMCIA card reader / PCI card that reads compact flash, then I'm getting it ;)

ok who is buying, can count mi in!

Err.. that I believe is just a PCI card, with a PCMCIA slot. You will still need to get the CF/SM PCMCIA adapter card in order for it to work!

You'll soon get pretty tired of reaching to the back of your PC just to insert the PC Card....

1. doesn't the adapter come with the 1Gb Microdrive? All those people with failed microdrives can probably give u their adapter...

2. To SS - video pro also lists a front panel version (that connects to the PCI card) that costs a total of $120+. For $120, I might as well get a ATA/133 card + the IDE reader (thats an idea...). But my computer's rear is easily accessible so I'm leaning towards the PCI rear panel reader reader. Also because i'm only using a mini tower - I got no more front panel slots left....
