I think Jason Ho did the right thing. He's one of the few admin/moderators that actually does the correct things at the right times.

I think you need to reflect on your own attitude & behaviour before you confront others.

If you find that a reply or offer is stupid, the ball's in your court to ignore. Using f**k at a person who casually asked if the parts can be sold seperately is un-called for.

You get too easily agitated and anger comes too fast.

For one who does not spell properly and express his ideas clearly, I do not see how the feedback can be taken seriously.

By the way d.z., some of us CSers are teens and teenagers (Like me for instance) ... I would suggest you use less 'language' when posting. This is meant to be a nice and friendly site for everybody of different ages with the same interests to interact with each other. If f**k is used on this site and is not taken care of by the admin like Jason Ho here, this site would not be a pleasant site to visit anymore and Clubsnap may lose its great reputation... I joined clubsnap for this reason... I hope it won't be ruined by the use of inappropriate language.

Despite your heated attack at CS admin, let me first welcome you to CS.

You are new to CS and you are already pissing people off by violating the first item of CS terms and conditions of use. I supposed you've read and agreed to CS terms of use when you sign up? The first item in the terms and conditions states that:

1. Be Nice and Be Civilised - abusing, name-calling, personal attacks on members and/or generally trying to stir up trouble will not be tolerated. Be kind to newbies as they may not know the general flow of the forums. Repeatedly violation of this rule will result in banishment.

wzmivan asked if you would sell the hood separately. It might be an uncommon request but that's totally harmless. This is a free market. You want to retain your rights to your asking price, then you have to respect others' right to make any offer, no matter how unlikely it is for you to accept such offers. Your response to his request in the ad is definitely over reacting, to put it nicely. Your naming him as an idiot in this post here even after he has appologised to you simply reflects badly on your own level or maturity and professionalim.

There is no indication at all that wzmivan is trying to push you around, neither is there any indication that he was creating trouble. By using abusive and vulgar language, you are the one who are creating trouble and pushing people around. And that is a direct violation of CS terms and conditions.

As far as I can see Jason did not side anyone, but based his comments and his decision to close your ad on your abusive way of communication. You actually threatened to confront another CS member face to face. Such "Ah Beng" behaviour is again totally unaccetable for the CS community.

You are the one who have not shown the public an adequate level of maturity of thought. The judgements you made about Jason and wzmivan is a clear demonstration of your own biased thinking.

And I shall make myself clear ONE LAST TIME on behalf of CS admin/mod team....WE WRITE THE RULES HERE, not you.

To be fair to you, we do have a guideline for the Buy & Sell forum that advises against open price challenges. Read this clearly: rueyloon should not have challenged your asking price openly. We would have dealt with him and edited the post accordingly have you been civil enough to simply report his post to the mod team. There is a little icon by the side of each post that you can click on to report that post to the mod team. If that has somehow escaped your notice, then you could have simply sent a PM to any of the moderators and we WILL deal with it as promptly as we can.

CS members have long since realised that there are always non-serious buyers around who would post OT remarks on others ads. We cannot stop them from posting, but we can delete offending posts and issue warnings to offending parties if the ad posters deals with them IN A MATURE AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER. Resorting to personal attacks and name calling only worsens the situation. Not to mention that such behaviour drives away your real potential customers.

My serious advice to you...do some self reflection and read Jason's post carefully before you even comment on this any further...that is, if you can do it in a civil manner. Jason's actions towards your ad has nothing to do with the pricing. Whether or not your asking price is reasonable is none of his concerns. He has only addressed you rude behaviour.

You clearly violated CS terms and conditions, any one of the admins or mods would have done the same to your ad.

d.z.....d.z.....how can you make such baseless allegations against Jason Ho?

d.z

And we have had enough of unappreciative people like you who thinks CS owes you a living. Again, who is the trouble maker here?

For all I care you can take your lens and your attitude somewhere else where there are people with you same level of "professionalism".

Though the rest of us know know better than to expect something like this from you, but the first thing you can do to salvage the reputation you have created for yourself is to apologize to the people you have offended.

I wonder how professional, civilised or serious you are by contributing such a lengthy thread?

:dunno:

Hey,

since you are so new to the forum, maybe you should learn that this is after all a virtual community where people have the freedom to speak up.

No doubt it may be wrong of them to "KPO" into the thread commenting about the price and all that. Its after all very common in the Buy/Sell Thread. Like it or not, you can put a "no banal talks" or post a reminder about no banal talks instead of " threatening to confront people face to face." Thats more than rude, thats BENG.

Like ESPN said, Jason Ho is doing the right thing. If you dont like the way things are being run here in Clubsnap,no offence, but you can bring your lens elsewhere to sell.

d.z...mmm...after reading the previous post of exactly what happens...i think you are indeed over-reacting and quite rude...wzmivan was indeed gentleman enough to apologise even when i think its no harm just asking that question...i think more will be coming in to comment (if thats what you want) but im pretty sure none will agree with you (not because you are a new to this forum but simply thats the facts)

roygoh...ur reply is ..

Personally, I think D.Z is the rude one here, the one without ethics.

I think Jason did the right thing, and I think Rueyloon did the right thing too. Buying and Selling Thread is not for Seller only, it is for buyer as well. If the buyer is informed of the fact that there is somewhere selling the items cheaper, he will benefit, and the seller will benefit too, knowing he has to make more research before he come out with the price. Chances are his so called checking out the prices is done by "What is the price of Tokina 28-80" and when the salesperson tell him he just say "OK" ....

Anyway, there is only one shop in Peninsular plaza that sell Tokina lens.

Precisely. Because of that we have to be fair to both buyer and seller. The key word here is fairness. Usually there is only 1 seller per ad but many potential buyers. If any of the potential buyers (or sometimes people who are not intending to buy) crashes into the sellers ad by challenging the price, the information, be it correct or wrong, becomes available to all other potential buyers to use to the disadvantage of the seller, which makes it then an unfair situation for the seller.

To maintain fairness, price nogotiations should be done via PM.

I have quoted this analogy so many times but I will quote it again here. If you saw an item on sale in a shop at Peninsula at a higher price and other places, but you do not know the shopwner personally, would you go into the shop and start warning shoppers about the high price and tell them where to go get a better price? Or would you go the the shop owner even if you do not intend to buy the item to tell him that his price is high? Even if you intend to buy, do you think it is appropriate to do your bargaining in front of other customers in the shop looking at the same item?

this made my day, its so sad its funny.. 8)

I think the moderators and admins have been overly lenient and patient in typing out such lengthy replies for someone who does not even know what is "civility"

using vulgar language on someone who has merely asked to buy the hood and then calling him an idiot despite his apology and thereafter creating threads to run down the admins and moderators ....

So, moderators and admins, what are you waiting for?

Give him the 3 finger salute - and B-A-N or B-A-N-ish

D.Z stop trolling. We are all busy here.

Come on lah!

d.z has anger management problem. However, I can see why he got angry in the first place.

I think price comparisons should be done at the point of sale. Shouldn't compare with prices months before or those offered during a sale that is already over.

Admin needs to consider the validity of d.z's complaint on disruptive/potentially misleading posts in his buy/sell thread.

The anger management part, I think, has been adequately addressed.

Please read my post. I have acknowledged, on behalf of the CS admin and mod team, that rueyloon's behaviour was inappropriate according to the CS B&S forum guidelines.

Hi D.Z.

OK, I just wanna to say a simple paragraph in short.
In clubsnap, we are here to gain knowledge, learn photography and etc.
To make friends, not enemy.
So, do take a breath and cool down, and forget about all those unhappy event.

Cheers
Kign Tiger

I joined this forum to enjoy virtual company of photogs, make friends if possible. So, D.Z relaks lah. Every sale u make is dependent on your PR, every sucessful sale also enhances ur PR. The way you are going I think you won't find any more customers.

Relaks, make love, not war! (photograph it in due process!)

Dear d.z,

Chill out man, too much violent in this world already... don't bring them to this forum lah... this CS forum is not CounterStrike forum you know... relex... breathe in... breathe out... breathe in... breathe out... wax on.. wax off...
