Any idea where i can buy camera that can use underwater?not so expensive..any brands and price?is the disposable one good?where to get them?

Thanks

Many digital compact cameras have manufacturer housing that allow the camera to go underwater, check with their website.

Alternatively you may want to consider Olympus SW series that are good to 3 to 10m depending on model. These camearas also have dedicated housing that allow them to go to 40m.

Having said that, and I have one of the sw cameras, the performance is not great. I have it for convenience.

The forum general consensus view appears to be tilted towards Canon and Olympus (the non-sw models).

Digital SLR have housing made by Ikelite and other manufacturers. In many of these cases the housing cost much more than the camera.

The disposable ones are cameras using film and are only waterproof down to 15m (some even less, check the description). Tried 2 of them earlier. They give reasonable pictures as long as the sun is shining and you are not deeper than 10m. If you just go snorkeling it's the cheapest way. If you go diving I don't recommend this.
For a few dollars more you could get 2nd hand P'n'S camera and case. Canon Powershot A80 and above have an underwater mode for adjusted white balance. Cases are available new and 2nd hand. Check for additional hints about batteries, silika gel, cleaning of case, use of flash etc.
There are a few new P'n'S cameras claiming they are waterproof up to 20m or so without extra case. I can't comment on that but knowing how much tiny particles are in the water I don't think the sealing around the lens will stand this for long.

Get lumix F36 with the housing. Quite small and handy. The video is great. Face detection works if you have group of fishes coming to you.

How bout Fujifilm F100D? The IS and ISO 12800 seems good for low light underwater photography. Further, it seems to have 400% more DR. Casing its cheaper than dSLR... for someone who dont dive more than 4 times a year.

Not in my case.....

Canon PnS camera can't give you good pics beyond ISO 200..... anymore, might as well use Handphone camera from the early 2000.....
