i got to notice its outstanding performance from chiff's flickr bali shots.... well, i'm a sucker
for smooth bokeh... i just can't stop taking another look at those shots.... the oof rendition is
pretty smooth and to my liking! imho, it has the zm planar's "3D" look! if i'd known earlier,
i might just get this lens instead of the planar and use some of the funds for the new 35mm
f/1.4...:bsmilie:

chiif, may i ask which film did u used for those kuta shots?

I think it was either those cheapo 3 roll for $10 Fuji Superia 400 or Kodak 400... Can't remember. I usually don't use expensive stuff when I shoot... :)

The 50/f2.5 is really a nice lens. Too bad, the general perception is the faster the better... but knowing that outdoors rarely shoot wide open at f1.5 or f2, which usually will exceed the 1/1000s or 1/2000s on M6 & Bessa bodies on ISO400 film, hence, in my own opinion, the 50/f2.5 makes an excellent travel lens with it's compact size and sharp & contrasty performance.

In fact, of all the CV lenses, it's built quality is the best. Full brass construction, feels very very solid on the hands.
