two digital m newbie questions:

(1) in the US, the m9 is going for 7k usd , the m9p is 8k usd

in SG, the m9 is 10.5k sgd, and the m9p i am sure is much more.

so, does this mean that i can buy m9p from the us (or m9 for that matter)

and it arbitrage the difference, and the warranty and servicing will still be honored ?

(2) does anyone provide insurance for cameras anymore ? any comments ?

thanks much

IMHO I would buy from the US myself, BH for example, since I have to make frequent business trips there. Exchange rates are good now. Warranty should be international I believe.

And insurance wise, do you mean shipping insurance or otherwise?

If its just a pure question on how to insure Leicas, I believe you can insure cameras under a home/property insurance scheme that also covers personal belongings worldwide, as a rider. Just check with your agent. So long as you are not using it for professional purposes which I think you are not of course, or else they will null the coverage.

Imho brother ray is so good with film, no need digital M lah

i remember seeing some selling the m9p here for less than sgd 10k wor

1. Warranty is international. so doesnt matter.
m9 is much cheaper in the usa, esp. used sets..

in sg nowadays used sets are around 7.2k-8k range..
m9p very new.. around 10k or so can see in the forum.

2. i think have, but i only heard before its for travelling (insure your camera)
