Trichrome experiment

I'm really fascinated by how they did photography back in the day. By 1860's, they came up with a way of making colour images using black and white film. I tried to replicate it and here's the results.

I took 3 exposures of the scene using red, green and blue filter for each frame. The photos were later blended in PS with a colour layer of the filter used to achieve the result shown. In the past, they would project the 3 images on screen.

Looks really great, much better than other examples I've seen in the past. Did you adjust the colour balance a lot?

Hey thanks. No, did not adjust the colour balance at all. Since in the past they used actual filters to screen the picture on screen and colour balance adjustment wasn't possible I decided to replicate that but leaving that as-is.

I saw a great example on Flickr that inspired me to try, way better than mine!
