How come suddenly got price increase?

I dunno... Even their shops are inconsistent... Funan selling $170 and Sim Lim $169.
If that's the price, I'll stick back to Ultra IIs.

Where did you get it from?

Got it from a shop at 4th level. It was the last piece.
And the shop owner wanted to sell it fast.

He mentioned that with the 2Gbs, they are losing money fast with the 1Gb coz of depreciation... Therefore he sold it to me to clear his stock.

How come suddenly got price increase?

Yes, my dear friend..after comex show media card price had went up alot.( especially higher capacity card )..Transcend CF120x 4GB was selling at S$169 at memoryworld...

i was quoted 129 for the transcend 4 GB at memory world at Funan last week

I did a benchmark test with a usb 2.0 card reader and the throughput of the Transcend was consistently faster than the Sandisk Ultra II. How?

not possible....last week price already went up...if you call up to ask for pricing long time ago...all prices quoted in the past..are past.....

If the price diff is ard a few $, its ok. But diff of $40 is a lot.

Based on read or write speed??? The speed multipliers are based on write speeds...
I tried my Lexar against the Ultra II.. both 1 Gb.... The Lexar seems to be about 10 ~ 20%faster. (FYI, my camera don't support WA)

Hmmm. I guess Comex was a little abnormal. Memory prices tend to go DOWN not UP with time, even after promotional offers. Guess I can wait a month or two more.

Thanks for the updated info.

Bought the 4GB 120X for $123 at the Comex.
Served me well during the RSAF Open House Airshow & HSBC Wakeboard 2006 with
mostly 8fps but not all the way 8fps lah..

i had to agree...memory card price had been going down for near 1/2 year and suddenly went up ....but that is the true..**sign**
keke...i will keep you guy update once i have good new and good prices..keke

Yah lah, only heard before prices would go down but go up is a bit hard to digest.

I also got mine at $169 2 days ago. The staff says the promotion during the show is a special offer and he cannot offer the same price again.

You might want to consider Ridata 150x. My friend bought his for the same price but according to Rob Galbraith benchmark, it's faster than Transcend's. Ridata is carried by EastGear.
