Hi, Today i just buy one pcs Transcend 32GB SSD expresscard.
Just test on my EX1.Result continues record....
In HQ mode, nearing 20min , will get MSG write error.
Then i pull out and put back , will show clip restoration. after restore then ok .
In SQ, Seem No problem. I still on test to record till full...
Somemore this card Only Selling at SGD165.00.
Cheap than Sony 32GB 12 times.
So record in SQ should be no problem.
One more Good thing is , No need Driver, Plug N Play!!!!

Have you tried the 16Gb or 8Gb? Maybe better transfer rate with no error.
 

I've tested Transcend 32gb SSD on Macbook Pro systems.
Card is definitely not fast enough for HD video read/write, and it is definitely a expresscard34 to USB interface.

Many other EX1/EX3 video users have reported unsuccessful use with transcend cards too.....So based on your description that it did worked...it is definitely very interesting.

Tested Kensington 7 in 1 expresscard adapter with 16Gb Sandisk Extreme II SDHC. Works in all modes HQ with no error except for overcranking. Max is 52fps of 60. Even when at 60fps, there was media error but it continued recording. After restore was ok!

Very usuable expect that the door cannot close fully!!!#%#$%! The SDHC card will stick out a little. I still would not overcrank with this card. Just use the normal card will do..


Anyone needs an 8Gb card?? Lelong lelong??
 

Transcend 32GB i try now, with HQ continues record, about15 min will stop and show media error, then still can trigger to record again, after restore was ok.
then SQ(HDV) continues till full. Everything no problem.
 

Who got? Yesterday i go Simlim Memory World, only have left last 32GB SSD.
So there a gal staff very kind to let me test before buy.:)

I have test a brand SD to express card converter at there too, using a class6 sdhc, but Fail. Cos it show msg "unrecognize media"

No choice. Card prices drop faster than shares. So get the higher capacity to cut losses.

Hi I bought a EX1 in SIngapore last week and also purchased this 32GB Transcend express card from Memory world in Funan. The staff there told me they had tested the same model card on another customers EX1 with success. I upgraded my camera from 1.03 firmware to 1.10 and finally 1.11_531 and I still cann ot see the card in the camera. before the upgrade the camera reported unrecognized media. after the camera acts like the card is not in the camera. I even tried formating to FAT32 then restoring a number of shoot clips from a 8GB SxS card onto it using MAC OSX 10.5 disk restore still no files recognized by the camera. but all can be read/written from my MAC. If anyone has any ideas I really want this card to work. It is actually cheaper than the MxR cards + SDHC combo that is advertised on the other forums. Also 32GB SDHC cards are not available in Singapore yet. I did order 4 adaptors from efilms in AU but they have yet to arrive to test. BTW does anyone have a recommendation for cheapest price and place to get SANDISK 16GB ultra II or Video SDHC cards in SG?

Hi Gary, I have not tested the SSD cards but there r feedback on errors due to speed acess issue. I have used the kensington and MxR and they both work very well except for overcranking to certain speeds. Price may be different but we cant afford to have failures in the field.

I would recommend to get a 16Gb Sandisk SxS combo with MxR.

You can check out the ground floor hp shop facing Haichew or 6th Floor on the right of esc when going up. Price was $65 for 16Gb ultra II 2 weeks back.
 

Ditto on the MxR. Have tried running full 57 min continuous on them at HQ with Transcend 16gb SDHC and they perform fine. Be careful with the 32gb Express card. Unless you can record a full hour 45 min on them at one go, I wouldn't rely on them. Anyway 4 x 16gb with MxR is plenty.
 

Thanks for the re-assurance on the MxRs I am awaiting them to arrive now. I had already bought the 32GB Transcend SSD after reading the first post in this forum. I just don't want to have wasted the 165 SGD I spent on it and also doubt the MxR cards will arrive before Sunday when i go on my next trip.


Anyone using the Transcend card have any secrets for formating or recovery ect to get the EX1 to recognize? I just hate to waste the $$$ I spent. the card works fine in my MAC but it does not even show media unknown error after the firmware upgrade it used to be aware of the media even if it would not write to it when OI was on firmware 1.03

BTW anyone know when the 32GB SanDisk Ultra II's arrive in Singapore??? and est price?

BTW anyone know where to get a Spider 2 shoulder mount here in SG for the EX1 or any other alternatives like a local shop carrying Steady-cams like the merlin or equivalent gear that will work on the EX1?
