Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8 lens

One of my friend bought a second-hand Tokina lens mentioned to me that it is not very sharp when you open to the widest aperture. Don't really true or false. But do take note if any one of you own one. Any way, I hope that there are better comment(s) besides mine. Cheers!

This piece of glass is one great lens to own. Used to own it when I was using Nikon and now owning the newer 28-80mm f2.8. (prefer this lens to the Canon L lens) Very good at all ranges except at 28mm. The image gets slightly softer at 28mm.

So if you shoot at f2.8 at 28mm, it gets soft images. But still ok to me...
