Tokina 28-70 f2.6-2.8 ATX Pro 2

Hi Guys,

Can u really get the f2.6 max aperture opening with your camera at 28mm ? I was trying it with my Dynax 7 at the shop yesterday and the max I could get on Aperture Priority mode was f2.8. Stilll thinking whether to buy, but the temptation is REALLY great !!!

What is a good price to pay for this lens new ?

This is a very good lens. I use the Nikon version and is very happy with it. Sharp from f/4 onwards. No, you can't get f/2.6 on the camera, but it's no a problem. It has been discontinued, if you can get it for $400 and below, buy.

Thanks. What about the price of NEW lens ? The shop was asking about RM 2000 ( SGD 900 ). How does this compare to Singapore ?

900 SGD for that lens? it's cut throat... don't buy from that shop. one of my friends got it for around 600 1st hand from photoguide.

Hi

Don't worry too much about the performance of this lens cos it's a GREAT lens. The amount to pay for a NEW Tokina 28-80 ATX will be about $800+. For the 28-70 ATX ProI or II, $600 should be a good gauge. I got mine at $350 2nd hand.

Don't be conned. $900 is too much to spend, especially when this lens is discontinued. I got mine for $400 used.

not much ppl selling this lense dude.. coz it's a very good lense.. i juz gotten one last week at a 2nd hand shop.. i dun think you can get anymore, coz i din see any around.. good luck in ur search! oh.. btw, what mount are u looking for?

Hello,Why don't you consider minolta AF 24-85 f3.5-4.5?try it 1st hand,sharp,good contrast,focus fast & light weight.if you don't need to shoot in low light, you seldom go until 2.8 .if i never heard wrongly,cathay got it cheap.
