You're better off getting a resale Canon 10-22mm than a brand new Tokina.. Assuming you were going to get new in the 1st place.. You will not regret getting the EF-S 10-22mm, there is a 2nd hand copy at TCW, selling at $850.. The TOkina is a formidable alternative for Nikon mount, as the Nikon 12-24mm is really expensive.. If you want brand new Canon 10-22mm, Oracle is doing a MO, iirc his price is $1,080..

I agree that Canon 10-22mm is defintely a Value for money lens. If Nikon comes out with a similiar lens at the same price, I've no doubt in getting it! However, the Nikon 12-24mm is currently selling for abt $1.5k.
