Can't help but noticing that we have a group of eager users with 7Hi.

Planning to start this thread so that the users will be able to exchange tips on this cam and Potential buyers can post questions on the cams.

I am new to this so .... some questions may be basic and fundamental ... I think this thread is meant to be as casual as possible.

So, let us begin ....

I got a 7hi with a 49 mm to 55mm converter, using UV 1b, appears that there is no vignetting ... but will try it out.

I am also currently trying out a 55mm teleconverter.

Will post the pictures ... still learning how to use the cam ... BTW ... how do you do posting of images ?

erm..to post up you need to be subsribing to some online gallery that lets you link the images, unless you own your own webspace. Heard onli openlens lets you do it now tho. :D

Horus,
What Flash are you planning ? The Sigma ? Does it support ADI and wireless ?

Got mine! Got mine!!

Heh heh heh!

Plus a B+W UV filter. Looking good man. But yet to experiment. WOOT!

EeeeHaaaa!!! Can start 7hi club liau! :rbounce:
BTW, how much did u pay for it and where did u get it from? Can update us?;)

Got it from TK. Same price as Snapper. It was a reserved piece and the buyer was hesitant so Richard did not mind selling it to me. Anyone here reserved the cam? My apologies, Richard did call him to reconfirm. Anyways, it was not the best price. Still feeling the pinch...ouch! Luckily got ERS heh heh...oh well and the plus point was it was still based on 3% GST. Not much to bitch about i guess.

I know that polarizers will cause vignetting, anyone care to confirm?

Ouch...still hurting ;)

Congrates Johnny ...

I am still feeling the pinch

but have not really tried out yet ... This 7hi club is growing ....

Hi, Jonny...the Hoya 49mm circ polarizer does cause slight vignetting at the corners below 35mm. However you need to put the UV filter on & off most of the time or you'll get more serious vignet. Try taking full resolution image when in wide angle as you probably need to crop about 5% from the edge.

I've tried step-up 49-55 with circ polarizer, it has slight shadow on the corner which isn't much an issue.

How about 62mm thread? Anyone tried this before? For this setup we probably need a 3rd party petal lens hood (screw-in type). But it might not be effective since the hood will rotate when you rotate the circ polarizer...:(

I think I used a wrong choice of words ... the converter is the step up ring ...

Since we are at that topic ... anyone tried this cam with a TCON 14B ? Does it work well ?

This is suppose to be a original brochure ... interesting ... but looks like the batteries (NP-100) will not fit in the compatment. Is it meant for external ?

2x NP-100 should be inserted into BH-100 battery holder that clip to your belt, which then connected to Dimage 7xx via annoying cord.

A warning though.... the 14B is pretty heavy and you need to support it well... if not the camera's lens might give way....
