its dropped alot lately! TCW quoted me $4400 for a new set! not sure about AP, or CP

It has dropped again at TCW but if I assume they are quoting you the same basis, ie export model price...am wondering...is it safe and how's their reputation in regards to their own 1 year warranty on the equipment sold. Please share your thoughts, everyone, anyone, on the pros and cons, thanks.

my thoughts are i have no, little issue with grey items, and they are really a fine company, they been running the comany way before most of you even knew of this hobby.
Tks vm for the thoughts....going down under in Dec.....currently cameraless...sounds great on the cash back deal...but can't go there without buying a cam here...too tight a schedule....

I have bought my 1D Mark II N (grey set) from TCW for about a year now...no issue so far....

A Right time to buy DSLR? No way. Wait for the price to drop means also likely buying a face out DSLR. Sad but true.
Well sad to tell you that 5D will have a face lift or Updates in 3 to 4 months time, a 5D Mk-II or 6D or 4D :bsmilie: as a new name, who knows. But for sure 3 to 4 months time, 5D age is about 1.5 years old and Canon usually "mostly" will have a new model to replace the old one.

When you need the tool just buy it. Even if it is like paying slightly more then the norm...I will say it is worth it. If you buy something and don't use it, even if it cost $1, I will say it is such a waste!
Anyway I took the plunge and never looked back....the pics I took with it is worth the money even of tomorrow 5D cost $2K.
My only regret is that I did not get it earlier!
