Extremely well made trailer, and special props especially to the score. Extremely craetive use of timelapse, and overall i have to say that it was captivating. I liked your titles as well. This is a really really interesting film, and i'd sure love to catch it at cathay. Care to shed some light on the technical details?

Hi Eikin,

We're not sure, it will be premiering at Cathay's The Picturehouse on Sunday March 25, and opening to general audiences on April 19.

We hope Cathay will open it to general theaters if the response is good, but outside of that, i'm not sure. We will be launching it at several film festivals shortly after its singapore run, but i doubt it will be very accessible to general publics than.

I hope for it to make at least 2 months of a run at theaters before the local box office pulls it out. Do try to catch it, or at the very least the dvd much later (we're in negotiations with distributors now.)

warmest regards

Hi again Malcolm,

Thanks for asking, we shot this on low, scratch that, no budget. The film-makers shared meals, and lived on passion alone. We scratched up as much money as we could and poured it into one camera. The canon xl2, and this camera alone is what helped us through the 300 some hours of footage that we shot over four years.

The final screener will not be reverse telecined to film as the cost is staggering and simply out of our reach. I certainly hope money rains from the sky, and that opportunities present itself to be converted.

The complete film was edited on multiple systems, off-line on an avid x system, and on-lining on a fcp mac intel quad. Footage collated on soft went into the terabytes, and came up to almost 4 different external raids.

Ultimately, the film and its footage collated will be stored at the Singapore National Archives as the film-makers feel that during the 1950-70s there is severe lack of archival footage, that we may or may not have been able to reserach and collate. Hopefully that does some good.

Anything else you would like me to eleborate on?

warmest regards

Absolutely brilliant. Loved your trailer - The quality of the music was astounding and intense. Looks like you have a really passionate flair for the topic and the necessary acumen and drive to succeed - Looks pretty extensive too. Love your time-lapses (:

I usually have pretty high expectations but this was truly epic beyond what I usually see coming from the local film scene. This was great. Congrats.

Oh and by the way, from one owner to another, the XL2 is an awesome camera

Love the trailer.
300 hours of footages.
4 Years.
No budget.
Whao. Simply amazing.

What kept you guys going, I understand its for passion.. but why the Singapore Indoor Stadium? 4 Years is a long time,I could go make a few more shortfilms within the time acutally.
Love to see more of your work!
Oh yes the XL-2 is pretty sweet... xcept the viewfinder :D

Regards
Dave
