The leather on my M9 is peeling off.

Yup, happened exactly at the same place as my M8.2
I think you can glue it back if it bothers you. Or just get a half case.

interesting thought.. does changing the leatherette to a better quality one from cameraleather (eg Griptec or even rare snake leather) actually cause the value of the camera to drop cos it's no longer stock?

Ok I just emailed Leica and they say they are going to replace the leather for me at no cost since its under warranty. But I got to wait for 10 days.

wow...10 days to change a leatherette?? Must be really skilled job. Anyway, am glad they will replace it for u. Let us know how it goes once it's changed. I suggest u check before submitting the body whether they got the leatherette stock here first.

Thanks it is good info to know warranty covers peeling leather and that local leica will service it within 10 days....

Haha I made an appointment with them to go down next monday. They told me that they got the leatherette in stock.
