oui oui. and you know that the price tag is 10000 euros

Strange that they put a lens in a humidor instead of a dehumidifying case. At 10,000 euros, this 100 lens exercise gives Leica a revenue of 1,000,000 euros!!

Cheers,

Hmmmm.....small as the current one...that means the box is S$10k?:dunno:
Waa.. very expensive dehumidifying box-only for one lens some more!!

Nice:

I think the golden "cage" is for silica gel...

Benny, better go get yourself a Noct before price skyrockets..

Box cost as much as lens!!

Maybe the box uses the wood from Black Forest, crafted by hands that made the Cuckoo Clocks...

It's worth it, Hacker... Buy Buy Buy! :bsmilie:

by the way, that's with VAT.
So, if you come to Europe and get it, you'll get VAT rebate....8000++ euros ;)

still, I would use the money to get an M8 and probably with enough money left for a couple of summiluxes ;p

the success of these will emboldened Leica to discontinue all its lenses and then releasing them as limited edition. :)

It also says it will release the last 100 pieces of the Noct around July 2008 at around 10000 euros. :-) It does make the current prices look reasonable.:-)

Don't be conned! The lens is the same! You are paying double for the packing....maybe they use real gold:bigeyes: Gold price is high now:bsmilie:

Favourite Leica marketing strategy. They did the same for the last few M6's (I think the special was that the bottom and top plates were brass rather than zinc allow), and my friend bought a new one barely 1-1/2 years ago.

'Reasonable' is subjective. Price will be what market is willing to bear. I love my nocts, but at the end of the day, it's just a fast 50 with some unique characteristics.

From the pics, limited edition is a bit disappointing, no special hand-ground aspherics, no one-off titanium casing, not even special paint finish or engraving. Just place in box that was sub-contracted to 3rd party vendor.

Well, Leica's overheads, R&D for new digital and optical products must cost money. Someone's got to pay for it... :bsmilie:

I just feel a tad sad that most of those will probably go to collectors who will keep them sealed in a box and not even get mounted on a M Mount. :(
