The Final Thread - Short Film

Hey everyone! I've just released a new drama short film! Do take a look.

Synopsis: A story of a 45 year old father trying his best to make ends meet with his 18 year old daughter, Yana, after his wife passed away. Everyday, he hopes that his daughter will respect him as a father be more independent. As the school prom is near, Yana asks her father for money to buy new clothes for the prom. Instead, the father gives her a dress which belongs to the mother. Yana, unaware that it's the mother's, destroyed the dress and demands money from her father. She later realize the dress belongs to her mother. She swallowed her regrets and finally tries to reconcile with her father.

finished watching whole video =)

i think the storyline is actually a very good one to work with and the video can be much longer ... there were several parts i was hoping would have a lot more detailed scenes to show the emotions, the father's difficulty in coping, the daughter's attitude towards the father.

most important part was the destroying of the dress and the "aftermath" that should have followed ... perhaps a big fight, a huge quarrel, maybe even violence

btw, i don't think i saw any part within the video where the father actually told the daughter that the dress was the mum's

anyway, it's definitely a good video, only a bit too short, with such a good storyline, may be worthwhile to make it into something bigger?

We didn't really want to directly tell that the dress belongs to the mum. We had a few hints from the father searching for the tin box in his bedroom and the wallet photo he dropped during the fight.

Perhaps it might not be clear enough or we didn't portray it how we intended to.


Well if there's a chance to get this longer, we would!

Like Petty, I was trying to figure out how do we know that the dress is her mum's dress ... the part on the wallet dropped, I knew it must be when I watch for the first time ... but cannot get the clue ...

The I watch again the second time ... then I realised there was a photo in the wallet ... but not sure id f it is my computer, on my computer, the wallet is so dark that I cannot see the mother's picture on the wallet ... the first time I watched, only the IC caught my attention ...
