Hi,
I'm looking for a tele-converter (X1.4 or X2) for my Minolta 80-200 F2.8 APO G HS.
From the little I know, not all the converters will fit to this lens... Can someone recommend me on a converter that will fit (Minolta/Sony/Kenko only... I prefer Minolta)?

Thanks...

Thanks...

I've been offered the Minolta tele-converter X1.4 APO, but i would probably buy the Kenko Pro-300 X2 because the minolta TC won't fit as far as what I understood from the article you addressed me to, and some info I also found on the web...

i have tried the 1.4x teleplus one. around $120-140 brand new. Works well for the lens you mention. in fact it can be used with all my minolta lens.

just make sure that there is a recess in the teleconvertor so that the rear of the lens can set in. Original minolta 1.4 tc can only be used with some lens only. so please check. thanks.

Looks like you found a TC that can be used on your 80-200 f2.8. Next challenge is to find one. No new TC in the market at the moment, only B&S. Really do hope Kenko and other brands will be readily available soon for the A-Mount :)

U can try the Kenko TCs... about $300 for the 2x one... I bought mine 2nd hand (Teleplus)... only these 2 brands will fit KM zoom lenses... anyway TCs are meant for fast primes and not for zooms... although most should work... anyway if u are using the 7D, it may not focus for other lenses slower than f/2.8... the AF is not sensitive enough...
