[ Tech ] - E3 Back focusing?

Would be nice if they added the focus calibration feature to the E-3, but since the E-5 came out I guess they see no point in doing so.

I absolutely agree with you on this. I am secretly googling for an E3 technician manual, found a link, but its no longer working. I just do not want to spend un-necessary moolah on such repairs, i know that if i send to osc, the amount i will spend to get it look and feel brand new could really get me a brand new E3! :bsmilie:

And I was scared when I first picked up the E-3 in the store because when it locked focus the viewfinder would be blurry...took me a minute to realize someone had adjusted the dioptre way off; it's something we do once when we first get a new camera, and then we forget about it.

Lol initially I thought it was my diopter too but after adjusting it when the af had locked onto my subject, the subject still appears slightly oof, so I turn the focusing ring till the subject is crisp sharp on my vf. Then it became a front focus issue after pressing the shutter as both background and subject are blurred but I had a tack sharp foreground though. :bsmilie:

So serious ah? That day I dropped my E-1 and 14-54 in my bag from about 30cm like that, then after that I try to focus, I thought focusing got problems, turns out cause I shooting handheld in the house low light :bsmilie: but focusing manually gave me sharper images than AF, but AF was reasonably sharp

Ya lor.. pretty upset about it that its like this..:bheart: Anyway lucky nothing happen to your setup.. if not , but you know what, i actually have a workaround for my issue. If i were to shoot lets say a human subject, i just need to place the af point below the subject's eye locked the af (which will still look oof in the vf) and shoot. 5x magnification on the playback and the subject's eye is quite sharp. It may sound ridiculous but hey it works!:bsmilie:
