Tamron lens service from other than the JEL corp?

what pissed me off was the attitude of the recep and the way she answer back to customer. Furthermore I sent the lens on mon. It has been 4 days already. I'm not asking them to get it fixed within 1 wk. What i need them to get back to me is just how long the repair will take and cost. Surely they dont need 4 days or more just to assess the lens rite? Damn pissed.

I took my old panasonic P&S in for some servicing.. the technician also did not call me back until a week later.. but once I agreed on the repair, it took 1 day.

So I think all these companies dont have armies of technicians. They prob have one or two only.. so backlog...

i am planning to send an email to them before i go all the way down to get mine repair ...

is this the only email to get to them --> gen.enquiries@jelcorp.com
i look thru the site and nothing much listed there ...

Hi frens.i just want to know if i have a problem with my 17-50 lens. I tried to focus on my friend's face in a dim light condition ( shelter at my block area ). But my lens seems unable to focus on his face. When i pressed the shutter button, the lens moved front and back without locking the focus on his face. Was that normal?

Tamron haunts in low light condition, you have to live with it or upgrade to canon

Noted! So do you mean that AF on Canon 17-55mm 2.8 can even more 'active' in a low light condition?
