A local reputable photography studio is currently involved in a large series of lifestyle shoots for a Government Board client. This project was started months ago and is still on-going, and the client is still looking for more talents.

If interested, please send recent photos to wpk77[nospam]hotmail.com (replace [nospam] with @).

Please include your real name, age, and contact number and it will be forwarded to the studio. Experience is advantageous but not compulsory.

If you've submitted before, you don't need to do so again.

Selection is a 2-step process: first shortlisting by studio for casting which is basically a simple test shoot at the studio, and then selection by client. If selected, you will be paid $300 for half-day shoot, or $500 for full-day, upon completion of shoot. (Rates revised and correct as of 11 Nov 06)

In particular, the client needs (but not exclusively):
1. 20s, male/female : Pan-Asian
2. Late 20s, male/female : Chinese, Caucasian, Indian (fairer skinned), Korean, or Japanese
3. Late 30s - 40s, male/female : Chinese, Caucasian, Malay, Indian (fairer skinned), Korean, or Japanese
4. Late 40s - 50s, male/female/couples : Chinese or Caucasian

Please keep thread clean and free from banal talk and off-topic posts. Thanks!

You mean you need models, not photographers?

Yes, models. Or talents specifically. The word "talent" actually refers to professional actors, but in the photography world, it's used to refer to people who are hired to act out a specific scene at a shoot.

For example, a computer company wants to have a lifestyle ad shot where a businessman is sitting at a table at a cafe "typing" on a laptop and smiling as if communicating with someone over the internet. The guy who plays out that role is called a talent. He could be sourced from a talent agency, street-cast, or a friend's friend, etc.

"Models" usually refer to fashion models. Models can be talents too. But not all talents can be models.

seems like you are working in the Commercial industry, if you need people like: add to the crowd a.k.a care-left-air type of photo assistant, pm me..... looking for these jobs;)

what you are talking about are extras...p.k. is looking for talents...

let me explain:

- in the top tier, there are models: those you see on the runways, in glam fashion brand ads and stuff who command the highest fees.

- in the mid tier, there are talents: those who look good but might not have some requirements to be models as dictated by the mainstream fashion industry, like not tall enough, not skinny enough, etc. Its cruel and unfair but there you have it. There are also talent opportunities for people who look outstandingly unique...

- those in the last tier, the extras: who look pleasant but not outstanding enough to hold an ad or image on his or her own.

Of course, can go down tier, like models can take "talent" jobs and talents can take "extra" jobs, but usually not up a tier...

up for p.k. :)

Thanks RBK, great explanation! I couldn't have done it better. :)
