Taking metal closeup

I want to take a closeup of a metal ruler.. any advice on it?.
Using a G3 n have closeup filters..

any surrounding settings i shd do?

Apparently, there's no rule on how to take a good closeup photo of a metal ruler. Atleast none that I know off
Just give it a shot using even lighting to prevent reflection, post your shot here and let others to comment if need improvements.

guess u will want to avoid direct flash.. best if u have external flash bounced..
