Summicron Rigid & DR

I read on antiquecameras.net some time back and it was said on the site that the Summicron Rigid and DR are both optically similar. Only difference between the two laid in the fact that the latter has 'eyes' while the former did not.

As I've been wanting to purchase the lens (and have yet to find it on the forums) I just wanted to check the accuracy of the statement because one of the shops in Peninsula was disputing it.

They are the same optically. I have a Mint one with box :bsmilie:.

Same formula but I think DR was made with tighter tolerance cos of the close focussing ability of DR such that the rear group must be matched with the front group. The two parts must have the same serial number.
