Hi guys, I am looking forward to acquire this lens for black-and-white film. Decided to give the 35mm focal length a shot.

May I address any of you who had experience with this lens to provide a feedback on flare issues of this lens (Googled and found that alot people had issues with this) and also the different kind of versions LTM/M mount (quite hard to source on the net)

Additional information/pictures would be very much appreciated!

I am currently looking at the M2 version and not the goggled M3 version. :)

Thanks in advance. :D

consider canon 35mm f2. very sharp and nice lens. value for money.

build wise , the Leica is the best than again the lens u are looking has been increasing in terms of street prices and very mint and nice copy cost quite a bit.

the ZM one's also looks not bad.

Thanks for the advise! :) I find that I prefer an "old world look" and sharp kind of images, may I know if there are any resemblance on the characteristics of the canon and the summaron?

Thanks:)

the one i have is 35mm f3.5 summaron. build is very very nice unlike canon 35mm f2. I been monitoring this 35mm f2.8 lens for few months already. Used to be able to get it 200 to 300usd without the specs

summaron 35mm f3.5

canon 35mm f2 , crop slightly at the bottom.

tone n color I prefer the Leica but the Canon not very far behind n its faster. On film, very nice tones for the Canon in b&w

You need the Nikkor. The Canons are very nice too, but to me, the Nikkors are still a notch above:

Nikkor very rare and expansive nowdays...

It seems like all the lens are. Last time when I was hunting down on fast lens, should be 35mm not 50mm. Gd 35mm nwdays for Leica, very expansive.

I tried a 8 element summicron, very gd also. Very very sharp and nice bokeh, price only not very nice.

You know how to shave about S$1000 off the price if you are using a Leica or Hexar body. ;)

Cheers,

Bokeh wise IMHO, Fujinon 35mm f2, the best!

i think the spelling shld be Summicron. I tried this lens on my 5D I before, flare & purple fringing is quite bad. ( i tried the lens tht's made in 90s, nt the ASPH version). Nt till i tried Zeiss ZF 35mm f2...damn. never regret it. Sharpness, bokeh, contrast, colour, etc. I'm unsure whether u can use this ZF version on ur Leica.
