Suggestion--- may we separate the WTS and WTB as sub forum?

That's a good suggestion... I think it's better separated, easier to browse... or if it is too difficult to apply, maybe at least put a different font color for WTB?

Would also be nice if there were Want To Trade options...
I propose that we separate the brands (nikon, canon, sony...) rather than the WTB and WTS...
People may not surf to the WTB side to look for a match when they wanna do a WTS.
I feel that canon users will only look at products that they can use, and nikonians go mainly nikon, etc... so it's probably more logical to do it that way.

Too troublesome to have so many subforums. Our esteemed moderators aren't that free too u'know, they even have to help people close threads when the TSs' can do it themselves. It's already seperated into bodies, lenses and others, where it used to be just 1.
It may be logical to people to have seperate subforums, but rather illogical forum-wise. Learn to use the Advanced Search function if the threads make you dizzy. The key word is SEARCH afterall.

If you have tried searching the threads... (eg. WTS, WTB, Nikon, etc...) you will find that its the last thing you would want to do to get meaningful results. :bsmilie:
What you all are suggesting to have the admins do is something you can do yourselves by using the search function, no? And may I say it's even faster since you zoom right to your query.

I know it's a little overwhelming be it the fonts or whatever, I had a look into B&S recently using the search function. But it's not something the admins can correct by adding more sub-forums or re-arranging them. Just look carefully and use your browser Find to fine-tune if you must. Hey, I get dizzy looking at the recruitment papers and my finger gets dirty running down the pages, is it the newspaper's fault for printing so small?

Putting WTS or WTB will be easier because there are so many brands...
As for the search function, I think most of the time, it gives something else which I don't think it is very useful.... Also, seperating it to WTS and WTB sub sections is easier for "window shopping"... ;p

yup i do think its better just for a WTS and WTB sub section because canon and nikon can also use 3rd party lens and the search is not really that useful because people may put "fisheye" or "fish-eye" which is 2 different search

it's not as if it's WTS versus WT5, then that might be a pain in the arse
in any case, don't need to separate by brand.. the mods already allow the individual personal ad page for most brand subforusm. if yours doesn't have it yet just start one and i'm sure they'd understand

My idea is that people owning a nikon body wouldn't probably look at a canon or sony mounted lens (yep, i know... some, but very very few, people do). There will be Sigma lens that can fit the nikon body, so that's fine to putting it at the nikon sub-forum. So, it's actually something like separating via mount types for the case of lens. It also solves the problem of people selling a Tokina lens of "unknown" (known only by the TS ) mount-type.
Another option the search engine should probably just be improved!

i think its good enough. no qualms about the system.
but if theres one thing for me to complain and nag about. that would be the services section... first time i went in.... full of TFCDs and talents asking for photoshoots.
