I followed the instruction on my X-700 instruction book on loading the film prior to usage.

However, the first 2-3 photos will always get exposed. The rest are ok.

Anyone have such problem?

the first few frame of your film are usually unusable. coz they are exposed to light.

After u load the film , close the cover, crank 1 or 2 frame forward, then shoot. Don't just close the cover and shoot.

conclusion : load film, close cover, crank your film, shoot.

Hi there ninelives. Thanks for helping.

Which means I will take 2 shots with the lens cap on to advance to either the 3rd or 4th frame?

Insert the film into the take up spool, wind 1 frame, close cover, wind 2-3 frames. That's the standard method of loading manual cameras.

it does not matter if u close the lens cover or not.

Does this problem occurs only on manual loading slr or even those with motor?

different between manual and motor is that motor will wind the film for you. for manual camera, u have to wind it your own.

As far as I see it, it isn't a problem at all... Both are the same, except that if u are really stingy, u probably can squeeze more frames out of the roll manually, hehee...
