I was traveling through to Jurong East one weekend when i saw some people gathering to what i thought was wrestling. When i asked them, i learnt that this game is called 'Kabaddi'.

Kabaddi (sometimes Kabbadi or Kabadi) is a contact sport that originated in Ancient India. It is the national game of Bangladesh, and Nepal and also the state game of the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Punjab. India is the most successful team in the world stage having won every world cup and Asian Games titles so far.

Every Sunday from 3 to 7 pm, players gather next to the open space next to Lakeside MRT to play this game. Next time when you are traveling on the MRT towards Jurong, have a look outside your window on a Sunday. You may see them playing Kabaddi.
