Stop over in Singapore, in desperate need of Leica help!

I have been travelling in India for 2 months, and am about too start 2 months in Asia. With me I have my Leica M6 TTL, and my Leica 35mm/F2 Summicron V4. The lens is in desperate need of someone to give it even somewhat of a CLA. The aperture ring has become grimy and rough feeling, and the lens feels a little bit loose. I am from Vancouver Canada, and will only be in Singapore for 4 - 5 days before I head to Indonesia. This is the only lens I have with me and I am worried I am doing damage to it. Any help would be much, much, appreciated. I will be there from Feb 2 - 6.

Regards!

May not be the best option if you're tight on time. See: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=949853

From that same thread, Mr Tay at De Camera Consultant might be your best bet. Strongly suggest you make contact ahead of time (whichever vendor you have in mind) to find out if you are able to obtain service, as Feb 2-6 falls right after the two days of Chinese New Year (31st Jan - 1st Feb), which are public holidays. Independent retailers may choose to take an extended break if customer volume/demand tends to be low during this period for their particular industry, more so if the proprietors are chinese themselves as they may take the opportunity to go on holidays, spend time with family, etc.

Bringing to Andrew at Leica will not help since he will have to send the lens back to Solms.

Best bet is to give De Camera Consultant or Camera Consultant a call.

Mr Tay highly unlikely to give this a rush job. Or rather he is generally incapable of rushing anything in my experience.

Quoted for truth. I'd recommend the others if time is a concern.

It is a common problem for 35mm Summicron v4 to have loose front cell. See here: cron v4 front assembly prob

It does not seem to be a problem that anyone of those name mentioned here could fix it in few days.
