Finally the weekend is upon us... and a chance to shoot, shoot, shoot...

Went down to AMK town garden this morning and was shooting mostly with the STF...

Likes:
- this one really grows on you, the MF feel is truly very nice with loads of feedback
- 'G' lens sharpness if I maybe so bold
- see sample shots for bokeh

Dislikes:
- one heavy prime
- hard to judge focus for close subjects (small DOF since this lens is meant to be shot wide open!)
- hard to use lens cap with the large hood on...

Harloes. Congratz on getting this lens! =)
I'd get one if i had the money hehe.

Why don't u change to M Screen? I changed mine and MF on my Sigma 105/2.8 is even nicer and easier than before =)

sorry, graininess due to jpeg compression... (anyone can recommend what software is good? PS jpeg compression always give me this problem... like I am shooting in hi-ISO)

Hi Timberwolf, do you know where I can still get M screen and what's the price? Will it work with the AF LEDs in the viewfinder? This it should help a whole lot...

saw one in CP pennisular plaza

Yeah... after much searching only other piece I've seen in Singapore is in CP.

In fact, you can't even find a single piece new / used on ebay which is strange since this is not limited edition or anything... :dunno:

Same story @ Adorama / BH photo...

You may need to stand quite far away and shouting to said ladies if you are shooting digital... 1.5 x 135mm = er... a bit too long for normal portrait...

That said, Iill definitely try and use it for portraiture if opportunity arises...

Interesting...

Double aperture thing is also found on 28-70 f2.8 APO G.

Hello drake. M screen won't be available anymore until Sony takes over cos it's done by KM technicians. AF lights work perfectly. You won't notice the difference, just tt the screen is dimmer and you'll be able to tell when ur AF isn't working correctly. Manual focus is a breeze too.

Yeah, you should! I even shoot with my nikon 180mm f2.8 = 270mm effective focal length for some portraits, though i got to admit you have to stand quite far and shout for directions, haha! That lens is a killer portrait lens... Wonder why they didnt do an auto-focus version?
