Steadicam Merlin BAD REVIEW!

Ohhh....i never expected the merlin's build to be of such poor quality!!! ^&%&^%$&%#

The quick-release plate's locking mechanism failed on me during a shoot today!
Totally unacceptable for such things to fail on me at a critical moment!!!!
Thankfully i managed to catch my Z1 camera when the plate slowly slipped out as I noticed that the balance was getting way off!

I was still thinking of trying to fund for the whole body brace unit & upgraded gimbal system, but no way man!!! It looks like they need to improve on the quick release plate's design before I'll ever touch the Merlin again!

The first Merlin I bought failed within minutes of setting it up. The quick release lever just fell off in my hands because the threaded hole in the plate isn't sited in thick enough metal. Cathay exchanged the unit for me and the second one seems OK. I always take care when fitting it though, to make sure it is seated properly before tightening the lever. I'd hate this thing to give way with my XH-A1 on board. :thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

i think smooth shooter shooter should be about 2.5k
