STEADFAST - Local Action Film

Hi guys, would like to present to you STEADFAST...

Probably the most ambitious and biggest modern action film made in Singapore, the film features a cast of over 50 people, military and police gun-blazing sequences and a motorcade of BMWs.

Steadfast is an independent film made by two very ambitious young directors from Singapore.
The film is supported by Kelvin Sng Productions, The Singapore Film Commission, Canon Singapore, Samsonite and other private sponsors.

You can check out the film trailer here: www.STEADFASTfilm.com

Cheers!

Cool, i saw this in the news last night.

no offense.. juz my criticism.. the trailer looks like its frm collegehumor,

senseless talking with shooting scenes hurled in juz to make it look "cool",
no subplots of love or romance (hint watch knight and day),

no real lead actors that truly stand out (the joker vs the guys in AVP2, which of these 2 characters are more distinct and memorable?)

u need a babe to attract the guys and a hunk to attract the girls.

and the scenes in the video are typically singaporean drama style with camera angles that are plain, simple and boring.

the colours are also very dull with strong blue tones, i understand the effort of trying to make the scene look like actual singapore skies and scenery but the colours are really lackluster and dull.

lastly the actors suck, TOO FAKE.. they gotta loosen up and put more REAL emotions into it

oh and a shootout in an office is hardly exciting, what people really want to see is a car chase on the benjamin shears bridge or a showdown atop the esplanade. things that ppl can relate to.. BE A MAN! BE DARING! SHOOT BOLDLY

last but not least, DONT FREAKING POST UR PRODUCTION PHOTOS ON UR WEBSITE!!!!!!!!! the "gallery" is for ppl to see screen shot of ur film, not how u produce the film.. *shakes head*

lol! reminds me of the korean drama IRIS...

STEADFAST is certainly not my cup of tea but I think you are getting personal here with your comments. There is really no need to pen down a fellow filmmaker to this extreme.

Killer is a girl... haha... Well, its not easy being an home grown outfit. If you survive local criticism, you can survive the world... hur hur... Take care and all the best :)

i hope the movie's better than the trailer =p

agreed... and no im not a girl -.- juz that for once someone is trying to make an inroad into the action blockbuster marker instead of jack neos comedies.. i expected more frm it... :( haix wonder when or who will be the next person to try... canon and other sponsors may nt be so generous liao

Ha ha, why don't you try and show us how it is done? I worked with David before on another short film, and I know it takes a tremendous amount of effort to pull even a small production together. It's a lot harder to do it than to talk about it. But it is very easy to criticise. Let's try to encourage our local talents.

yup i know its a pain.. thats why i was shocked when i saw a video made on a canon DSLR (cant rmbr model) abt car racing in thailand and another video abt horse racing (filmed in SG) by a singaporean :o they were so good.. so i used that as my basis for comparison. if a guy with juz a camera rig can make films like that, shouldnt that be the standard for comparison for all other videos?

No, because color-grading is the biggest weakness in VSLR footage.

It isn't as simple as pushing curves like u do on photoshop.

well, i still feel we should give credit to a local film maker.
hollywood doesnt form overnight...

i am not here to argue on how good or bad the film is, but instead of giving criticism,
i think we should be mature enough to give some suggestion on areas to be improve on and not being so sarcastic..

just my thoughts...
:)

A car racing and a horse racing DSLR video inspired you so much with this lengthy comments on a low budget action film TRAILER. I'm inspired!

(Richard, r u coming for the premiere!?!?)

valiant effort! i'm impressed u managed to pull off such a mammoth production with an independent budget. actions not really my cup of tea either but i like the cutting and cam movements.

technically definitely theres some room for improvement. i might think about changing that first frame of the trailer which shows some hardcore rolling shutter. and i think you could have used a lil more ND on the outdoor stuff, to the get the DOF going.

but other than that great effort. will try to make it for screenings.

and i hope this "killer" guy comes too so you can shoot him with a prop carbine haha... kidding.
