which lens to choose between 28-70/2.8 or 24-105/3.5-4.5 ?
i usually shoot outdoor but sometimes at indoor and also at low light (not use flash).
i think about 2 factor from this lenses:
SPEED
at daylight this two lenses will have no problem, but at low light 24-105 slower than 28-70.
RANGE
24-105 is more wide and more tele than 28-70
if you have to choose, which one you choose? speed or range?
the lenses are Tokina 28-70/2.8 and Minolta 24-105/3.5-4.5
thanks for help
Err... question -- when you mentioned speed, are you talking about focusing speed or shutter speed?
If its the latter, then F2.8 prevails in low light at times. But if its the former you were saying, I reckon the F3.5-4.5 is faster. I based this on a Min 24-105D vs a Min 28-70G (bloody snail). Both kinds of speed do matter in low light conds.
Anyway, enjoy what you have bought!
