nothing strange, didn't try the cam with my Canon flash when I bought it. When brought home, it didn't fit. So I was quite pissed with my decision :embrass: , looks like I need to get the sony flash now to do indoor bounce flash photography.

However, I'm starting to learn to love this camera, and it's really good. I'll post some pics I took today. Printed A3 size without any problem.

Stay tune... need all you guys help to help me get around these problems.

gootlah, do join us in the next Sony Users Group outing, we got alot of F828 users whom can help you along the way. :)

You can get the Vivitar flash instead of the sony's F32X. Works just as good and cheaper.

King Tiger, Thanks for the invitation... I'll definitely join.

snowspeeder, can you give me more info on the vivitar flash? can the head swivel up/down and left/right? This is important when I need to shoot portrait and need to bounce off the ceiling.

Fyi, Snowspeeder is the BEST teacher who can guide you on the usage of F828.

He will bring some photo taken by F828 and you will be amaze.

How do I post pics here?

For this, you gotta ask Beaniecow. You can do a search and PM him directly. He uses this combination to take wedding photos. I've seen him use it, for sure it can swivel up/down, but not sure about the left/right movement.

Reply back his pm. Hope it helps for him ;)

hey i also feel like buying 828

Dear all,
I have a 828 to let go. Actually not yet decide on the price but I just happen to enter this thread, so let those who want to upgrade from the previous model have an option...

I have the original box, also the silver box (I pre-order during the launch and no embaded name on the box), the 2nd original batt, the sony flash, the canon close up filter.

I use it quite often so the exterior are only about 90% new. Bring it to my Australia trip last year and love the flexiblity.

Reason of selling: still prefer my G-series contax which I used in most of my important events. After selling the 828, will look into another digital cam.

I will post the standard selling information here later, what price do you think it will be worth with the items above?

cheers!

now i am using EOS DSLR

but may be interested in jacken's 828 - condition i dont really care if its spanking new or abused, as long as in good useable condition will be fine. the reason for getting 828 is for something less "serious" than my current EOS set-up but which is still a good imaging tool. and also for the InfraRed capability. and the black colour. more stealth than white L lens. and also for the name..ever since school days sony is the funkiest name in town, everyone wanted a walkman. anyway the price of brand new is roughly $1700 new in sg?

I finally got a chance to use my F828 to cover a whole-day wedding event. I had fun using it during the day, where lighting is adequate and the flash did well for fill-ins.

However, the performance disappointed me during the evening dinner event. After a couple of shots using a set of 30% used Alkaline batteries, recharge came to a slow. Even swopping to NiMH batteries didn't last long for more than 30 power shots. In the end, I had to use the bulit-in flash for quicker response. Also, the autofocus is slow and erratic, and I couldn't use the AF-hologram focus thingie coz it looks really weird on the subjects.

What I liked about the F828 is the ability to capture the event with different angles that the official photographer using a Canon DSLR couldn't.
