Sony HXR-NX5 Review

A very quick review, didn't have much time with the camera.. Works ok on Vegas 9, doesnt work on Vegas 8. FCP users have managed to transcode.

Looks like a lovely resource Jason. I'll try it out. Hope this video is useful. Its a pity i didnt have the chance to do a shootout with the z5.. too much work piling up!

Its a production unit but i tink the stocks not in yet. the price is quite attractive i must say. but frankly this is still a distance from xdcam ex in terms of quality.

yup in prosumer world EX rocks (till RED brings out scarlet

but 1 EX + cards, can almost buy 2 NX

and we already have Z5 so NX will be a good camera to do multi-cam.
just worried about workflow and transcoding time. apparently 8gb of AVCHD transcodes to 50GB of prores 422 (if anyone can confirm on this would be great)

btw is the SD cards hot swappable?

yes they are swappable as long as u r not changing the card that is being recorded on.
