Hello to the fora!
I am owner of a Digital 8 camcorder from Sony and I had an accident.I hit it no damage at all externally but I have a big problem when I am trying to play the cassete.It plays it in fast forward when I push the play button without showing on the lcd the double triangle which means FF but the play(little triangle) . As electronics engineer I tried and opened it, got some measures with my oscilloscope and I see that when I push the play I got the same width in ms pulses in capstan motor -U,V,W signals-.I don't know if it is ok or if this means that it gets wrong feedback from the driver of the motor.
I had given this camcorder to Sony repair center and they asked me 600Euros for changing the board(I payed 1000 for buying it so I think it is too much to repair it).I need this camera, although I bought later a newer very cheap to shoot family movies, but I can not play my tapes in another d8 camcorder especially when the tape has SP and LP movies.
If anyone can help or knows where I can find more info (I already have the schematics -only-) such as forums for camcorder repair I would be very gratefull.
