Sony action cam as15/as10

Anyone know if the AS15 or AS10 is out?

Went to check at the funan sony stores yesterday and was told only available in sony gallery at orchard area?

From my experience, the wifi for AS15 is okay.

But the wifi totally disconnect when you go underwater !!

The wifi is not suitable & non-usable if you want to film underwater !

Anyone has the same experience too ?

Did you buy in Singapore? Where and how much please. Last I checked with the Sony Gallery in Wisma in Dec they said no idea when coming in.

Got tired of waiting for Sony Singapore...2 months ago I bought the non-WiFi version(AS10), apparently those early reviewers mentioned the Sony PlayMemories app(Android?) being wonky with the WiFi version...but maybe they have fixed that in later revisions by now..

Seems to work ok for me, although I have to mention that I bought this as a makeshift take-anywhere-camcorder-thingy rather than an action cam in mind:think: Now I'm just waiting for the LCD cradle to arrive, making it really work like a tiny handycam unit:bsmilie:

As it stands, the curved front cover of the standard housing isn't optimized for underwater shooting, for that you'd have to buy an additional pack which will include the flat-cover for the housing(the pack also includes another cover with vented holes to allow the on-board mic to pickup sound better, much like the GoPro skeleton covers)

On a separate note, do yourself a favor if you intend to buy a few extra NP-BX1 batteries(Sony 1st party ones) if you are ordering it together, I have no idea why Sony Singapore charge more than double the price compared to everywhere else:dunno:

the last I asked, SLRR is selling the as15 with extra battery, external charger, casing and some more freebies which I cannot remember for $425. Sony store @ Funan sells a similar package at $495

Initially i was also considering a GoPro Hero 3 .. thot thats the best in the market..a no brainer decisions..

Then i come upon some threads on the web, complaining about the Hero3. Problems such as it destroyed 64 SD card.. the camera freezes, batteries draining too fast, the cam couldnt read SD card despite having one inserted in.. problem with the remote etc..

Of course not all set has such problems.. but seems like common enough..

As such, i am now looking into a SONY..

The ActionCam's quality underwater is terrible. It doesn't focus well and the shots turned up blurry. Highly likely due to the curved lens design. Gopro has rectify the problem in their 3rd iteration. The GoPro Hero 3 Silver edition is a much better performer.

It needs an underwater cover infront in order not to be blur, selling under separate accessory like hero 2
