Hello all,

What do you think of this particular model? It retails for $2,999 at Sony Gallery.

BTW, 100GB can only take 13 hours of the highest quality video leh... :o

Here are the specs:
3.2 Megapixel (Gross) ClearVid™ CMOS Sensor
Switchable HD/SD Format Recording
x.v. Color™ Technology
10X Optical / 20X Digital Zoom
Professional Quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® T Lens
2.7" Wide (16:9) Touch Panel Clear Photo LCD Plus™ Display (211K Pixels)
Smooth Slow Record
Dual Record - (While recording video in High Definition you have the ability to capture a 4.6 Megapixel still image directly to Memory Stick Duo™ media)
Super SteadyShot® (Optical) Image Stabilization System
Tele Macro Function
Built-in Intelligent Flash
Super NightShot® Infrared System
Manual Focus
etc etc etc
and of course, a 100GB HDD

That's only a preview.

The Canon gets top marks. I have the SD9 though.

Unless you're shooting an on-ocation documentary and don't intend to dump out your footage, 13 hours ought to be plenty for most application. :)

Could you please share more on why Canon gets top marks. I changed from a Sony miniDV cam to canon only to return back to Sony again.. It might be my personal taste, but I wasn't impressed by sharpness and color tone of the canon cam.

I would like to know if canon has really improved in the consumer end of the camcorders.

Hi can you share how much you paid for the Panasonic as well as the quality compared to a miniDV 3CCD camera?

I'm looking at purchasing my first HDD camera. Looking for a 3 CCD one

Read this review, I find that their reviews are quite accurate.

Try reading the camcorderinfo reviews for a better idea of the difficulties surrounding AVCHD file formats.

The SD9 was gong for $1.6K after GST, but some guy is selling the same camcorder, albeit a parallel import for slightly less than $1.1K on this forum.

Cheers! WIll read the reviews. So many!

Yup its $1032.50 to be exact :) only @dealuseek
