All constructive feedbacks are welcome.

Congrats on starting on your APAD project :)

welcome to apad. ;)

i must say, i'm not a fan of the view in the first photo here, the foreground is a mess of black if you include the left, and if you don't, then there are those distracting floats in the water..

Thank you, night86mare. I will take note of that and if I go to shoot MBS again, hope I can improve in my next shooting.

For #2

The image is not sharp due to over-cropping and motion blur.

The surrounding is too messy even if you want to include it's habitat.

Too many too hotspot and dark shadow, due to shooting at high noon light.

The angle doesn't show much details of this sunbird.

Lastly

Welcome to APAD. :)

This is cute! which part of ubin can you find these crabs? I wanna bring my kids there!

What lens are you using and what photoediting software you used, I will try my best to share some of my experience.

Cheers!

nice to try out sunset picture. You can pla around with white balance to set diff mood of this kind of picture. Are you shooting in manual mode? try to experiment more.

as for the composition, the spot that you just took isnt a good spot. To take silhouette shots (actually I am also just learning to take silhoutte shots too), it will be better to have a clean distinction on the lines.
Too many buildings here and it appear too messy. For example, the Singapore flyer and teh marina bays sands. Sometime in this type of situation, you maybe wanna look out for distinctive building to shoot. If your zoom is not long enough, you can always crop the picture.

Anyway, do try more to get your own personal style. My advice isnt always right as i am still learning too.

Cheers my friend!

Congrats SONGws fopr your APAD project, just feel the pics are abit soft .... other than that, i am still learning alot and reading what others think ....
BTW, have you bought the new tripod you thinking of ?

Are all pics soft? I agree that #2 and #3 are soft though, probably due to very strong sunlight. No, I haven't got the tripod yet, need to save up. And thanks for sharing.

I found these little crabs when I was walking on the walkaway (sorry, don't know what it is called :dunno: ). There are all over, and this pix is actually a combination of 4 shots, cos they are not near each other, so I merge them together. :bsmilie:

Due to the mud, and where I stand, I have to shoot at 300mm, I am using Tamron 70-300 f4 for these shots. And I am using Photoshop CS4 for editing.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input, and yes, I am using the M mode and capturing in RAW. And yes, this is the effect of manipulating the white balance.

And I do agree that in taking silhoutte, this is messy indeed. Didn't think of this when I was taking this shot, only thinking of the sunset. :sticktong But thanks for bringing this up. I will take note in the future.
